Cocktail Time – Sizzling Mojito!

What time is it???

Sizzling Mojito Time!!

It’s Sizzling Mojito time!!

All weekend long, on my Facebook Pageย I’ve been having the coolest party (well I think it is) — A ‘Fresh and Fruity Cocktail Party’ in honor of the above cocktail – The Sizzling Mojito!!

I wish I could say it was an original idea — but I cannot! I just recently got this cookbook along with two others…

And I was 100% COMPELLED to make a cocktail that I found in Rick Bayless’s Cookbook, Fiesta at Ricks – link here. This cookbook is super fun – I highly recommend it!

The Sizzling Mojito is so amazing for 3 major reasons:

  1. It combines 2 of my all-time favorite ingredients: Ginger and Tequila ๐Ÿ™‚
  2. It is light and refreshing
  3. Ginger and Tequila, GINGER AND TEQUILA!!

Okay, was that enough? It really is the perfect drink; refreshing, not too sweet with a hint of spice! What more could you ask for? ๐Ÿ™‚

This recipe is not lightened up at all. I thought about it but I honestly think it is best as is. ย The best way to do anything is in moderation – So, with that said ENJOY ย and savor this drink! ๐Ÿ™‚

Rick Bayless’s: Sizzling Mojito:IMG_6542

Serves one 12 oz Mojito

  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 quarter-size slices of peeled fresh ginger
  • 3 Tablespoons Sizzling Simple Sizzzzurp — I mean syrup {Recipe for Syrup here}
  • ice cubes
  • 2 oz of silver tequila (I used Cabo Wabo)
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice )
  • Sparkling Soda or Club Soda – I used Lime Sparkling Water

  1. Put the mint leaves into 12oz glass and top with ginger slices.
  2. Add Sizzling Simple Syrup to to glass.
  3. Using a muddler, or the handle of a wooden spoon or a long handle tea spoon; muddle/crush the ginger and mint to release the flavors into the syrup. The more you muddle, the more flavor – So muddle-mc-muddle away!!
  4. Add enough ice to fill the glass then add ย 2 oz of tequila and 3 tablespoons of fresh lime juice.
  5. Stir with a long handled tea spoon or straw to mix everything together — You’d hate to have someone get a mouth full of tequila, ginger and mint on their first drink…. ๐Ÿ™‚
  6. Top each glass with a little sparkling water or club soda.
  7. Cheers and ENJOY!

Stay tuned for my next post which will feature all the amazing Mocktails and Cocktails that my friends brought to the party!! So fun, right?! ๐Ÿ™‚
